Set of the Month: May Edition Turntable Tales w/ Boot & Tekla – Ode to the Moms

As a resident of Open Source Radio and Paak Vinyl, we proudly introduce Boot, a familiar face in the nightlife of Nijmegen, both in front of and behind the decks. A passionate vinyl collector, Boot draws from a wide range of styles, always bringing a unique selection to each performance. His motto: no genre boundaries. Every party, venue, and crowd gets its own curated crate of records.

His heart lies in soulful world music, which he often shares during his sets at Paak Vinyl Bar. For more club-oriented nights, he leans into the electronic spectrum, moving fluidly between house, breaks, and much more.

With his resident show Turntable Tales on Open Source Radio, Boot creates a space for experimentation. He invites guests to break free from conventions – no restrictions, just freedom to explore sounds outside the usual comfort zone.

One special highlight was his Mother’s Day set, where he invited Tekla (Jurre) to join him in playing records from their mothers’ collections, or tracks that reminded them of their mothers. Many of these records had never seen the light of day, but this emotional and heartfelt session made it truly memorable.
