In the Spotlight w/ Djana Djordjevic

In the Spotlight is a series where we highlight the voices, stories and creative practices behind the shows on Open Source Radio. From longtime residents to new additions, this rubric offers a closer look at the people shaping our sound – on air and beyond.

Today we highlight long-time resident Djana Djordjevic, a “professional vibe raiser guiding you to the gift of presence, weaving the art of being with the motion in emotion.”

Whether it’s through DJing or hosting shows and spaces, Djana Djordjevic uses music as a channel to transmit the beauty of present energy. “Through this presence I create space to connect with ourselves and others – a feeling of coming home to yourself as a creative being.”

Her residency show, The Blank Space, is an intimate musical container of storytelling, where she shares her journey, anecdotes, and revelations – accompanied by the music that serves as her soundtrack. “In the current season of The Blank Space on OSR, I invite guests over to do this together, and to get to know another person by listening to the tracks they bring into the container. After sharing and nerding out about music, I alchemise the energy through a DJ set.”

The Blank Space also finds its live extension in a listening group, which Djana hosts together with Floris from Willow HiFi. “We gather around his sound system to listen to music and share our stories, feelings and experiences around it.”

The next edition takes place on May 22.

The latest episode of The Blank Space is highlighted in our archive on our homepage – listen back now.
