Are you someone who loves gear, solves problems quickly, and knows (or wants to learn) how to keep a studio running smoothly?
Open Source Radio is looking for a Technical Coordinator Buddy — someone who wants to dive into the tech side of broadcasting and learn how to support a busy, DIY radio space from the inside out.
As part of our buddy system, you’ll shadow the current technical coordinator and gradually take on more responsibility. From fixing signal issues to maintaining gear, you’ll help keep the sound sharp and the station live.
What you’ll be doing
- Helping with technical setup and support during broadcasts
- Monitoring and maintaining DJ/audio gear and studio equipment
- Troubleshooting basic tech issues
- Assisting with repairs, upgrades and studio maintenance
- Supporting volunteers in using the equipment properly
What you’ll learn
- How to manage a fully functional container studio setup
- How to respond to technical problems on the fly
- How to maintain and repair essential equipment
- How to communicate tech tasks clearly to non-technical team members
- How to plan upgrades, investments, and long-term improvements
Details
Hours: ± 4 hours per week
Location: On-site in Nijmegen (some prep/support tasks can be remote)
Language: Dutch and/or English
Start: From June 2025
