Vacancy: Community Manager Buddy

Do you love bringing people together, supporting creative growth, and building community through music and conversation?

Open Source Radio is looking for a Community Manager Buddy – someone who wants to learn how to nurture and activate a dynamic, grassroots radio community from the inside out.

As part of our buddy system, you’ll work closely with the current Community Manager and gradually take on responsibilities – from organising workshops and events, to connecting with artists and volunteers, to creating space for learning, collaboration and exchange. You’ll play a key role in helping OSR remain an open, welcoming platform where people grow, share and contribute.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the organisation of workshops, panels, and learning sessions
  • Helping identify the needs of our artist and volunteer community
  • Coordinating gatherings such as club nights, meet-ups, and in-station events
  • Strengthening communication between OSR and its contributors
  • Helping build a culture of inclusion, learning, and mutual support

What you’ll learn

  • How to co-organise events from concept to execution
  • How to maintain healthy, active communication with artists and volunteers
  • How to shape and support a diverse, artist-led creative network
  • How to represent the voice and needs of a community within an organisation
  • How to build structures that support talent development and care
