Do you have an obsessive love for music, an eye for talent, and a feel for flow?
Open Source Radio is looking for a Programmer Buddy – someone who wants to learn how to curate a diverse, thoughtful, and future-facing radio schedule.
As part of our buddy system, you’ll work alongside the current programmer to help shape the weekly broadcast schedule, support residents and curators, and help translate sound into structure. You’ll slowly grow into the role of someone who balances artistic vision with community connection.
What you’ll be doing
- Helping build a varied, high-quality weekly schedule
- Spotting new talent and working with them to develop their shows
- Thinking along with curators and residents on show concepts
- Supporting the programming for OSR hostings and festivals
- Collaborating with the blog team on editorial content
What you’ll learn
- How to program a station that balances energy, voice, and diversity
- How to guide and support artists in shaping a radio format
- How to think critically about genre, flow, and inclusion
- How to manage a weekly structure and spot scheduling gaps
- How to connect programming with storytelling and editorial

Hours: Flexible / by agreement
Location: Hybrid (Nijmegen-based, with remote work possible)
Language: Dutch and/or English
